The Wildcats were steady all day on games of 965-972-1004 and they won game 3 by 104 pins, but Station Camp had built a pinfall lead of +146 after two games to win the Match by 40. Dylan Fetcho led our guys again with a nice 225 game and a 595 series, while Peyton King had a 202 game. The Wildcats are 4-3 in the District.

Ladycats win against Station Camp 22-5. Megan Metz took on the #3 girl in the District rolling a 236-636 total. She is now 24-0 in individual matches! Zaylen Hudson had her best day yet with a 215 with a 545 series… 152 pins over her average! Kristin Sheffeild had a 200 game, and Rachel Fox rolled her highest game as a Ladycat with a 164. The Ladycats are 7-0 in the District, Great Job Ladycats!

Meet Recap

Wilson Central Boys convincingly won the Region 5-AAA Championship! The Wildcats placed all five scorers in the top 15 and 4 in the top 6! Nathan Peterson finished as the meet’s runner-up with an incredible time of 16:09. Joel Barlow was just one tick behind Nate (16:10) for 3rd, and John Elrod was 4th with a time of 16:26. Baylor Franklin (6th) ran 16:35. Central’s fifth scoring runner was sophomore Russell Riggan who ran 17:33. Chris Farmer, also a sophomore finished 23rd with a time of 17:54. Grant Pody (28th) broke 18-minutes with a time of 17:59.

Meet Recap

Nicole Esslinger (17th) lead the Wildcats at their season finale with a strong, trophy-winning top-20 performance! Maris Phifer (19th) also broke into the top-20 and brought home hardware in addition to equaling her personal best (22:47) over the 5,000 meter distance. Olivia Fanning (41st), Ellie Humphrey (46th), Alexis Garcia (51st), Mackenzie Abgit-Hansen (58th), and Abigail Bennett (71st) finished the 3.1 miles in the varsity race. Good job, ladies!

After a Cinderella post season, the Lady Wildcats fell to AAA powerhouse Brentwood High School in the substate round. They finish the season 26-23. Jr. Hannah Potts lead the team in kills with 294, followed by Sr. Delaney McCorkle with 280. Defensively, Sr. Shelby Coombes tallied 85 blocks while Sr. L Kendal Tomlin neared 500 digs with 492. A career milestone, Fr. S Emilee McDonald had an astonishing 1056 assists. The Lady Wildcats will graduate 5 seniors, who will be honored at Friday night’s football game against Overton High School.
