The Freshman and a select few middle school boys were invited to run at Montgomery Bell Academy this past Monday April 26th. It was a great turnout, and the young boys have a lot of promising talent. 7th grader Chaz Martin finished 15th in the 100m dash, running 12.26. Jamie Jamison, an 8th grader, finished 26th and ran 12.90. Out of 36 boys in the 200m dash, Aden Bryan finished 4th at 23.68, and Shawn Moore finished 8th at 24.38. Brayden Huynh ran the 800 in 2:13.65 and took 4th out of 17 boys. Middle schooler Noah Smith took 5th overall in the mile, running 5:09.06. Smith was followed by Freshman Seth Stride in 14th, running 5:36.28. As for the 4x200m relay, the Wildcats took 2nd at 1:37.01. The boys also raced well in the 4x400m and 4x800m relays, running 3:55.49 and 9:43.01 respectively.
Freshmen Landon Mason and Boston Studley were Central’s prime competitors in the field events. Mason finished 5th in discus (107-06.00) and 8th in shot put (37-04.00), and Studley finished 12th in discus (89-08.00) and 21st in shot put (29-06.50). Overall, it was a great chance for some of the younger athletes to get out and compete. This meet is a great way for schools to size up their future team leaders. Stay tuned for what’s to come for these boys!
