The Wildcats’ first match of the night was against Mount Juliet. The only Bear to score against the second-ranked Wildcats was former Wilson Central wrestler Anthony Pyron, winning a minor decision to give Mount Juliet 3 points. The Bears were also short-staffed on the night, forfeiting seven individual matches. This gave the Wildcats momentum, but it did give Pyron some hope for individual district matches later this season. The Wildcats took this by a massive 78-3 margin.

The second match of the Wildcats’ sweep was against the newcomer Green Hill Hawks. The Hawks proved competitive from match to match with the Wildcats, but they were unable to mount a single win against the powerhouse. Green Hill was also unable to fill every weight class against the Wildcats, some of which may have been precautionary against two-time state champion Hunter Borders, who only had one match on the night. The Wildcats blanked the Hawks 81-0.Wrestling 2019-2020

Borders got his only match of the night against the rival Blue Devils of Lebanon. Lebanon, being the second team to score on the Wildcats, managed a minor decision behind wrestling phenom Eli Clemmons. Besides this victory, the Blue Devils were dominated 77-3 by the Wildcats.

2020 TSSAA Coach of the Year John Kramer’s Wildcats now stand at 9-0. Thursday’s home match against Clarksville was canceled, but Wilson Central will travel to Stone Memorial on Saturday, December 12, to take part in a five-team match.
