Last night, the Wilson Central Wildcats traveled to Mt. Juliet to play the Golden Bears. The Wildcats had not defeated Mt. Juliet in boys basketball since 2014, but last night that changed. The game came down to the wire, but a huge three from Zack Markus made the score 41-40 with 13.4 seconds left. After two made free throws from Sophomore, Ethan Thomas, the Wildcats ended up winning 43-40. Markus hit the clutch fourth-quarter shot, but Adler Kerr carried the offense throughout the game. Kerr finished with a team-high 21 points. Mt. Juliet was led by former Wildcat, Daniel Beard. He led Mt. Juliet in scoring with 13 points.
Wilson Central’s next game will be against their other rival, Lebanon. That game will be Friday, December 4th and it will be the Wildcats home opener. If you want to be there make sure to buy tickets early as they will be limited, but if you can’t make it, tune into our NFHS Network for a live broadcast of the game.
