Girls Varsity Volleyball · Fall–Volleyball– Lady Wildcats End Season in District Semi-final

The Wilson Central Lady Wildcat Volleyball team ended their season in the semifinals of the District 9AAA Tournament at Lebanon dropping a 3-1 match to Green Hill.  At one point the Lady Wildcats held an 11-3 overall record with a 9-1 District Worksheet.  but as all teams have been concerned in 2020 about injury and covid-19, Wilson Central suffered through both of these.  Mid-way through the season Campbell Strange suffered and was slowed due to a hamstring while others had various injury issues that slowed the play of the Lady Wildcats.  Two Weeks prior to the tournament covid-19 made its way to the team causing a protocol safety quarantine of the freshmen and JV team members leaving Head Coach Maci Lerno with a short bench of 8-9 varsity players.  Couple that to injuries and the end of the season was just a matter of time.

Wilson Central fought hard against Green Hill.  The saying “it’s hard to beat a team 3 times in a season” came true as the Lady Hawks defeated the Lady Wildcats 25-18,  20-25,  25-22, & 25-23 in a close high scoring match that ultimately ended the season for the Lady Wildcats finishing with a 12-7 overall record.  With the end of the season brings to a close the high school careers of two Seniors, Campbell Strange and Sydney Dalton.  From the Wildcat Nation we would like to send our best wishes to each of them as they continue their Senior Year at Wilson Central.

Here are a few memories of the Seniors……
