The Wilson Central Volleyball team make the track up Golden Bear Gateway to take on rival Mt. Juliet. With a record of 10-3, 7-1 in the district, the Lady Wildcats needed the win to keep pace with District Leader Lebanon. Wilson Central stormed in front winning the first set 25-14 and looking like the night would be short with a 3 set blow out. However, Mt. Juliet playing at home had other ideas as they claimed the 2nd set 25-23 to tie the match at 1-1. After a short but stern message from Head Coach Maci Lerno, the Lady Wildcats responded with a third set 25-19 win followed by the match deciding 4th set 25-16. Senior Sydney Dalton lead the charge for the Lady Wildcats collecting 12 kills and 5 digs. She was followed by Jae Morton with 10 kills, 7 digs and 3 solo blocks. Ally Knueven and Natalee McDonald played steady and contributed in their usual way with 9 and 3 kills respectively. They also added 19 and 7 digs respectively while McDonald secured 20 assists.
The Lady Wildcats will now travel to Cookeville on Wednesday Sept 23 to take on the Lady Cavaliers.
