The Wilson Central High School Basketball Team traveled to Beech High School last night to play the Buccaneers. The Wildcats started off to a very slow start, just scoring 3 points in the first quarter. The Wildcats could not come back from their slow start and they ended up losing 65-37. Beech shot really well from the three point line, shooting 55% from downtown. The Wildcats leading scorer in the game was Adler Kerr with 12 points. He was followed by Zack Markus-Kellerman who scored 7 points.
Wilson Central is currently tied for seventh place in the district, but they have a few big games coming up that can move them up the standings. The Wildcats are only 2 games behind the fourth place team, and with 5 district games left in the season the Wildcats can definitely catch up. Their
next game is at Lebanon on Friday January 31st starting at 7:45. After that they have their last regular season home game on February 4th. That game will be Senior Night for the Wildcats as they match up against the Gallatin Green Wave. Tip-off will be at 7:45 so make sure to show up and support your Wildcats. If you can’t show up to the game you can tune into our broadcast on the NFHS Network.
