The Wilson Central High School basketball defeated Hendersonville 61-49 on their Coming Home night Jan 24. The game started off very slow for both teams as they both entered the bonus early in the second quarter.  The second quarter was a free throw battle, but Wilson Central still came out on top at the end of the half. Then, Wilson Central ran away with the game in the third quarter, outscoring Hendersonville 20-8. That big run came from them draining a lot of threes.

In the game, Wilson Central shot 8 for 19 from three point range. That was one of the best games shooting the three all year and a lot of that came from Jordan Beard. He had 16 points and was 4-8 from three point range. Beard was not just making catch and shoot threes, he was making threes off the dribble. A lot of these three point shots came from great passing and designed plays for three point shots.

The Wildcats next game is against the Beech Buccaneers on Tuesday January 28th. Currently, Beech is third in the District 9AAA standings. A win against them would be huge for the Wildcats place in the standings, it could move the Wildcats up to 6th.
