Wilson Central fell short of a District Championship losing to Mount Juliet 8-6 last Friday. After each team scored 1 run in the first inning, The Lady Bears continued their onslaught scoring 2 and 3 runs in the 2nd and third inning respectively to take a commanding 6-1 lead over Wilson Central. In the top of the fourth inning, the Lady Wildcats came out swinging loading the bases when Freshmen third baseman Taelor Chang hit a grand slam making the score 6-5 Mt. Juliet. The Lady Bears scored 2 more runs in the bottom half of their 5th inning to make the final score 8-6.
Alyssa Costly took the win for Mount Juliet. She went seven innings, allowing six runs on seven hits, while striking out five. Richetto took the loss for Wilson Central. She allowed nine hits and eight runs over six innings, striking out four. Taelor Chang notched Wilson Central’s only home run on the night. Emily Rowe went 2-4 at the plate to lead the Lady Cats. The Lady Bears tallied nine hits in the game. Billington and Mekayla Draper all collected multiple hits for Mount Juliet.
