Wildcats News · Spring–Track and Field– North Sub-Sectional Meet in Clarksville


Wilson Central’s Track athletes competed in the North Sub-Sectional Track and Field meet at West Creek High School in Clarksville on May 3rd and 4th. Here are Wilson Central’s results:

Men’s Running Events:

Sterling Melancon placed 4th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.17, and Melancon placed 4th in the 200 meter dash as well with a time of 22.39.  Javon Weir placed 6th in the 400 meter dash with a PR time of 52.98.  Russel Riggan placed 6th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:04.17.  Elliott Hughes placed 12th in the same event with a time of 2:11.45.  Andrew Farber placed 8th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:50.47.  Alex Galligan placed 8th in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:11.11.  The 4×100 meter relay team placed 6th with a time of 44.42.  The 4×200 meter relay team placed 8th with a time of 1:37.53.  The 4×400 meter relay placed 6th with a time of 3:39.22.

Men’s Field Events:

Palmer Baines placed 3rd in the High Jump with a height of 6’0″.  Garrett Todd placed 3rd in the Long Jump with a jump of 20’2″.  DeVonte McBroom placed 7th in Discus with a PR throw of 117’8″.  McBroom also placed 5th in Shot Put with a throw of 41’2.5″.

Women’s Running Events:

Morgan Bailey placed 12th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.11.  Jaycie Hitt placed 19th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.58.  Makeena Merkley placed 9th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:42.70.  Elina Malancea placed 8th in the 3200 meter run with a time of 13:14.87.  Morgan Bailey placed 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.27.

Women’s Field Events:

Zoe Vlk placed 1st in Discus with a throw of 114.2″, and she also placed 1st in Shot Put with a throw of 45’1″.  Olivia Lanius placed 10th in high jump with a height of 4’6″. Jaycie Hitt placed 5th in the Long Jump with a jump of 15’5.75″.  Morgan Bailey placed 3rd in Triple jump with a jump of 32’4″.

 

 

The next meet will be held on May 9th and 10th at Austin Peay University where the Wildcats will be competing in the Sectionals for the right to compete in the TSSAA Track and Field Meet later next week.
