Taelor Chang was bad news for opposing pitchers on Friday March 22, driving in five runs on two hits to lead Wilson Central past Mother McAuley 13-1 in the first game of the Warrior Classic in Murfreesboro. Chang drove in runs in the first and a grand slam in the third. The Lady Wildcats secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the third inning. Wilson Central put the pressure on, led by a single by Sydnee Richetto, a home run by Chang, a groundout by Alaina Morris, an error on a ball put in play by Shelby Moore, and a double by Grayce Guethlein.
The Lady Cats opened up scoring in the first inning, when a sacrifice bunt by Chang scored one run for Wilson Central. The Lady Cats big bats were led by Moore, Guethlein, Morris, Richetto, and Chang, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Kassidy Davis was credited with the victory for the Lady Cats. She surrendered one run on five hits over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Odendich took the loss for Mother McAuley. She allowed 11 hits and 13 runs over three innings, striking out one. Wilson Central hit one home run on the day. Chang went for the long ball in the third inning. Wilson Central had 11 hits in the game. Chang, Guethlein, and Richetto each had multiple hits for the Lady Wildcats. Richetto, Guethlein, and Chang each managed two hits to lead Wilson Central. Odendich went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Mother McAuley in hits.
