Wilson Central opened their 2019 Regular Season by defeating Ravenwood by a score of 4-2.
The game started off slowly for both teams, with no player crossing the plate until the fifth inning with a run from Wilson Central. The final inning contained offensive effort from both the Lady Cats and Lady Raptors, as Wilson Central added 3 runs and Ravenwood tallied two.
Wilson Central All-Region guard Sydnee Richetto led hitting for the Lady Wildcats with a pair of base knocks. She also had one of five RBIs for the Lady Cats. Senior Kenzey Meador also had an RBI, and both Alaina Morris and Kaylee Richetto each had hits. Kassidy Davis tossed a complete game for Wilson Central, retiring a pair of batters on strikes. Starting her season off with a 0.29 WHIP.
Avery Wissmar had a solid outing for Ravenwood, fanning 8 batters in her complete game. While she gave up 4 runs, Wissmar was able to find the zone, pounding in 21 first pitch strikes. She had 2 runs behind her pitching effort, but it was not enough to top the Lady Cats.
