Wilson Central, coming off of an upset win over the Lady Hawks of Rossview, looked to knock off the Devilettes for the first time this season. Sydnee Richetto was now over 1,000 points, Nicole Brill was finding her spark early in the game, and Lady Wildcats looked the best that they had all year. However, the game was a different story. Wilson Central ended their season to the Devilettes of Lebanon in the Region 5AAA Semifinal, losing 64-49.
Sydnee Richetto still managed 18 points off of 5 threes, a layup, and a free throw. She also had 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal on the night, ending an impressive sophomore campaign. Nicole Brill went 5-8 from the post and shot 66% from the charity stripe to tally 14 points, and she grabbed 5 boards and a steal. The other Lady Cat scorers were Teoria Woods with 8 points, Aubree Starnes with a pair of threes, and Kaylee Richetto with a three. Wilson Central’s offensive effort was valiant, but Lebanon’s three-headed monster was too much for the Lady Cat defense.
6-foot post Christaney Brookshire led Lebanon scoring with 17 points, hitting 7 of her 8 shots from the paint and shooting 75% off of free throws. Addie Grace Porter hit a three and a layup, but the majority of her 14 points came from 9-13 shooting from the charity stripe. She also led rebounding for both teams with 8 total. Allissa Mulaski finished with 12 points off of 2 threes and a trio of shots from inside the arc.
The Lady Wildcats season comes and end and close at 18-13. The Lady Cats look on to the 2019-2020, where they will lose seniors Dottie McSpadden, Aubree Starnes, Kaylee Richetto, Jaycie Cowan, and Miyaunna Cason. However, The Lady Cats will be returning All-District players Sydnee Richetto and Nicole Brill. .
Go Senior Lady Wildcats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!!!!!!!
