Girls Varsity Basketball · Winter–Girls Basketball–Lady Wildcats Fall to Lady Bucs 60-27 in Semi-final Tilt

Wilson Central fell to the consolation bracket of the District 9AAA girls tournament being played this past Saturday losing to #1 seeded  Beech by a score of 60-27.

The Lady Cats were unable to get any sort of offense going, as Sydnee Richetto only shot 5-15 on the night. Two of her five shots were threes, giving her 12 points total. Nicole Brill followed Richetto with 7 points and 7 rebounds. Only two other players scored for Wilson Central, which was Sydney Dalton and Jasmine Angel with 4 points each. The Lady Bucs locked down Richetto early, keeping her from knocking down her 1000th career point.

Deshiya Hoosier led Beech scoring with 19 points, tossing in 4 threes and also grabbing 4 rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Kendra Mueller hit five of her six shots from the post, as well as a free throw, giving her 11 points and 7 rebounds. Mia Dean had 10 points off of a two and 80% shooting from the free throw line, and Jana Claire Swafford put up 9 points from shooting 50% from the perimeter and a 1-2 trip to the charity stripe. The Lady Buccaneer defense shined the brightest, however. They were able to lock down Richetto and Brill, limiting them to 19 total points, and that ultimately gave Beech the win.

The Lady Cats took on the Lady Bears of Mount Juliet this past Monday, looking to take the third place spot in the district tournament.
