The Wilson Central Lady Wildcats traveled to Gallatin High School on Monday, February 18th to compete against the Mount Juliet Lady Bears. Mt. Juliet knocked off rival Wilson Central 48-39 Monday night to decide third and fourth place in the District 9-AAA tournament. The Lady Bears led 14-8 following the first quarter, 23-17 at halftime and 35-24 through the three periods as they improved to 24-5, for the season while Central slipped to 16-12.
Emma Palmer overcame foul trouble to power in 19 points to grab eight rebounds for Mt. Juliet while Tondriannha Davis dropped in 13 and Reghan Grimes 12. Nevaeh Majors finished with four. Sydnee Richetto racked up 10 points for Central while Teoria Woods notched nine, Nicole Brill six, Aubree Starnes and Sydney Dalton five each and Jasmin Angel four.
Both teams will travel to play in the Region 5-AAA opener at 7 p.m. Friday with the winners returning to Gallatin for the semifinals next Monday. Wilson Central will travel to the Rossview to take on the District 10 AAA Champion Red Hawks while Mt. Juliet makes the journey to the Henry County to play the Lady Patriots.
