Winter–Swimming–Wildcat Swimmers Blaine Robinson and Mia Harris Finishes 11th and 12th at State Meet
Congratulations to the Wilson Central Swim Team for their success in State competition this past weekend! The ten-member team represented our school well. The women’s 200 freestyle relay team of Alexis Temple, Madisen Williams, Dasha Williams, and Mia Harris had a personal-best time and moved up three spots from their seed placement. The men’s 400 freestyle relay team of Blaine Robinson, Gage Working, Logan Baker, and Evan Freeman had a personal best time and moved up a whopping TEN spots from their seed placement to finish 18th in the state, only two spots out of finals. Other swimmers who participated in medley relay events were Taylor Dover and Logan Brown.
Evan Freeman had personal best times in his individual events as did Gage Working in the 100 Butterfly.
Most exciting events of the weekend was the success of Blaine Robinson and Mia Harris. Blaine charged from 16th in preliminaries to capture the 11th place medal in the 500 Freestyle. Mia won the 12th place medal in the 100 Butterfly and achieved a NATIONAL qualifying time! Blaine and Mia are the Wilson County Swimmers of the Year (Blaine’s second year, Mia’s third), and both set school records for the highest placement in individual events and number of state medals won.
Special thanks to all the students, faculty, and staff who have encouraged these swimmers all season. GO CATS!
