Several of the Wildcat’s Track team members went to Vanderbilt University on Saturday, February 2nd to participate in the Music City Invitational. Our athletes preformed extremely well. So well, that Zoe Vlk broke a school record at the meet. In the weight throw, she had a throw of 13.75 meters or 45’11”. We are very proud of the program as there were multiple top ten U.S. times and marks set that day. Here are the rest of the results:
Olivia Lanius placed 9th in the women’s high jump, with a jump of 4’9″. Jaycie Hitt placed 11th in the woman’s unseeded long jump, with a jump of 14’8″. Zoe Vlk placed 4th in shot put with a throw of 39’8″, and she placed 7th in weight throw with a throw of 45’11”. Garrett Todd placed 8th in the men’s seeded long jump with a jump of 21″4″.
Garett Todd placed 10th in the Men’s Unseeded 60 meter dash with a time of 7.37, a personal record. Dakota Tomlinson placed 12th with a time of 8.03, another personal record. Russel Riggan placed 22nd in the men’s 800 meter run with a time of 2:02. Sterling Melancon, Nolan Edwards, Javon Weir, and Russel Riggan placed 14th in the men’s 4×400 with a time of 3:43. Jaycie Hitt, Mackenzie Abigt-Hansen, Makenna Merkley, and Madeline Bittle placed 17th in the women’s 4×400 with a time of 4:56. Morgan bailey placed 34th in the woman’s 60 meter hurdles with a time of 10.75.
