Wilson Central fell to Lebanon for the second time this season, this time at home, by a score of 49-41.
The first time these two teams faced off, the result was an overtime thriller, and after the beginning of this game, it was apparent that round two would be very similar. Wilson Central ran away with the first quarter 13-3, but Lebanon quickly battled back with an astonishing 26-point second quarter. This left the score 29-23 in favor of the Devilettes at the half. Sydnee Richetto and the Lady Cat offense tried to regain the lead in the second half, but Richetto’s third quarter injury spelled danger for Wilson Central. Richetto played through the minor injury in the fourth quarter helping bring the Lady Cats back to within the 8-point margin.
Richetto led the Lady Cats in scoring, putting up 18 points off of a 7-19 night from the field. She also had a pair of rebounds, 3 assists, and assisted on 4 points. Aubree Starnes had another double-digit night, going 3-10 from three and hitting a layup. Jasmine Angel grabbed 10 boards, and Sydney Dalton had 4 points and a rebound before coming out of the game with an ankle injury. The Lady Cats were unable to get many of their shots to fall, going 16-45 from the field and shooting only 24% from three. However, it was fouls that gave the game to Lebanon.
The Devilettes went 15-18 on their trips to the free throw line, compared to Wilson Central’s 2-5. Allissa Mulaski shot a perfect 3-3 from the perimeter, ending her night with 15 points. Addie Grace Porter followed with 11 points, hitting 7 of her 8 free throw attempts. Lebanon only had 13 total rebounds, but their impressive shooting from the charity stripe gave Wilson Central their eighth loss on the season.
The Lady Cats now sit at 14-8 (4-6), they will take on the Lady Wave of Gallatin for the final time of the regular season. Tip-off is at Gallatin High School at 6:00 p.m.
