Wilson Central was unable to defeat the red-hot Lebanon Blue Devils at home, falling 80-56.
Despite the loss, the Wildcats still had a trio of double-digit scorers, as Daniel Jackson put up 18 points, Azel Eddings dropped 14, and Tyler Hayes had 10. Their 56 point effort would usually spell a win for Wilson Central, but their defense was no match for Lebanon’s offense, as they managed several shots from both the paint and the perimeter.
The same Lebanon offense that knocked off the district-leading Mount Juliet Bears took the Wildcats in full force. Former Wildcat Kobe Tibbs knocked down 5 shots from the perimeter, giving him 21 points on the night. Jeremiah Hastings followed Tibbs with 15 points, hitting 4 threes of his own, and Malcolm Logue put up 13 points. Lebanon led every quarter except the fourth, outscoring the Wildcats in the first quarter 21-17, second quarter 21-13, third 23-11, and tying in the fourth 15-15.
Wilson Central then went on to face the Green Wave of Gallatin on January 29 at Gallatin High School.
