Wilson Central fell to the Commandos of Hendersonville by a score of 45-32.
The Wildcats couldn’t get their offense to spark throughout the game, as most of their 32 total points were scored in the 1st quarter sinking 10 against Hendersonville’s 13. Tyler Hayes led scoring for Wilson Central with 11 points on the night. Daniel Jackson followed with 7, and both Caleb Lawrence and Azel Eddings put up 6 points off a pair of threes. Josh Gibson rounded out Wilson Central scoring with two free throws, giving him 2 points. Hendersonville’s defense was just too much for the Wildcats to overcome, and their offense outscored Wilson Central by 13.
Zach Morris led Commando scoring with 19 points, hitting a trio of threes. Noah Taylor was Hendersonville’s second and final double-digit scorer, dropping 10 points. The Wildcats helped Hendersonville by fouling them 17 times. This led to several points from the charity stripe,
propelling the Commandos past the Wildcats for the double-digit victory.
The Wildcats traveled to Beech to take on the Buccaneers on January 22, looking to split their two games with the Bucs.
