Boys Varsity Golf, Girls Varsity Golf · Fall–Golf–Wildcats claim District Runner-up to play in Regional, Sophomore Kate Castle qualifies for Individual Regionals

Congratulations to both our Wildcat Golf teams that played in the District 9AAA Tournament on Monday September 10. The boys advanced as a team to the Regional Tournament and became the 2018 District Tournament Division 1 Large Runner-Up. A total of 11 teams competed in the tournament. Hendersonville placed first with a 291, Wilson Central placed second with a score of 312, and Lebanon placed third with a 316. The boys individual scores were: Junior Trey Melvin shot an extraordinary 71 and placed 3rd overall for the tournament. Connor Smith was just behind him with a 76, Mason Adcock scored an impressive 81, Andrew Lena got a  84, and Ty Baker scored a 85.

The girls team scored sixth overall with a 185 and a total of 10 teams competing in the tournament.  Kate Castle advanced as an individual to the Girls Region Tournament with a sensational score of 91. Her sisters weren’t far behind, Sarah Castle scored a 94 and Molly Castle scored a 101

In the words of Coach Burke, “I couldn’t be more proud of how the team played today! The boys played the best they have all year, and the girls held their own for a young team. Ultimately all five boys are advancing as a team to the region tournament, and Kate Castle is advancing as an individual to the region tournament.”

The golf teams are excited for their next match. They play next on Monday, September 17th, in the Regional tournament. Go out and support the teams.
