Football– Wildcats and Golden Eagles Face Off At Jamboree
The Wilson Central Wildcats played in the Jamboree this past Friday night August 10th against the Shelbyville Golden Eagles at Wilson Central. The Wildcats did their very best and pushed themselves as hard as they could, however, being a Jamboree they did not show their full arsenal of weapons .
The freshmen team started the night playing two quarters, but unfortunately the final score for their stanza was 24-0. Cadydin Moffitt caught a pass from Tristian Davis with 00:03 seconds on the clock but unfortunately the clock ran out as he stepped out of bounds near the end zone.
Following the Freshmen exhibition, the Varsity team ended with a 17-3 deficit. With 2:01 on the clock left in first quarter, #17, Senior Kwamez Kirby, had a 50 yard kick off return. Going into the second quarter #22, Ezra Widelock, kicked a 28 yard field goal, earning The Wildcats 3 points. Towards the end of the second quarter, #14 Garrett Todd, caught a long 50 yard pass reception from Senior Wildcat Quarterback Dylan Carpenter.
The JV team played after Varsity and ended their two quarters with a score of 6-6, drawing a tie between the two teams. During the second quarter #2, CJ Hatchett, scored an electrifying touchdown run of 50 yards for The Wildcats.
The Wildcats will continue to practice and work their hardest for their next game day as they will travel this Friday, August 17th,2018 at 7:00 pm against The Buccaneers of Beech High School as the Wildcats will open the 2018 regular season.
