The Wilson Central boys and girls golf teams opened their 2018 season, yesterday, August 7th, against Mt. Juliet and Hendersonville at Bluegrass Yacht and County Club. Unfortunately, both teams fell to second behind Mt. Juliet but on the bright side, both teams came in front of Hendersonville. On the boys side, Trey Melvin led the way with a 76, Connor Smith came second with a 78, Ty Baker shot an 87, Andrew Lena shot an 89, and Mason Acock came just behind him shooting a 90. Overall, the team shot a 331 which was seven shots ahead of Hendersonville’s 338 but it was 20 shots behind Mt. Juliet’s 311. On the girls side, Sarah Castle shot a 93, with a close second, Kate Castle shot a 94, and Molly Castle shot a 100. The girls team’s overall score was a 185 which was an impressive 20 shots ahead of Hendersonville and only 14 shots behind Mt. Juliet.
The boys and girls next match is on Tuesday August 14th against Gallatin and Lebanon at Long Hollow Golf Course. The match time is set for 1:00.
