Girls Varsity Softball · Spring–Softball–Lady Wildcats Fall to Portland 10-5 is last regular season contest

Wilson Central Lady Wildcats lost the lead late in a 10-5 defeat to Portland on Friday May 4th to close out the regular season schedule.  The game was tied at five with Portland batting in the bottom of the fifth when Anna Herrera doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Portland took an early lead in the first inning. Herrera singled on a 3-2 count scoring two runs. Wilson Central evened things up at five in the top of the fourth inning when Kinsley Blackfox singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Kaylee Richetto took the loss for the Lady Wildcats. She allowed eight hits and six runs over five and two thirds innings striking out two and walking zero. Wilson Central tallied nine hits in the game. Morgan Stokes, Kaylee Richetto, and Shelby Moore each racked up multiple hits for The Lady Wildcats.

Wilson Central will open District 9AAA tournament play traveling to Station Camp with the winner to play Mt. Juliet.
