Wilson Central opened the District 9AAA Tournament on a high note with a 6-4 win over Beech in rain delayed weekend. Central scored in the 1st inning to give them a 1 run lead. The Wildcats scored 3 more runs in the 5th to push their lead to 4. Beech responded in the 6th with 2 runs. Wilson Central answered with 2 runs themselves in the bottom of the 6th. Matthew Jenkinson had 3 RBI’s for the Wildcats.
Wilson Central won their 2nd game of the district 9AAA “south” tournament against Gallatin in a 6-1 victory. Central was down early but responded with a big inning in the 3rd and the 5th. The Wildcats scored 2 in the 3rd and 4 in the 5th. Aaron Hubbell led the Wildcats on the mound with 13 strikeouts and giving up 1 run on 1 hit. Hubbell pitched a complete game for Central. Gabe Jennings, Ethan Shelton, Connor Sullivan each had 1 RBI for Wilson Central. Aaron Hubbell had 2 RBIs for Central. The Wildcats racked up 11 hits as a team to help them move on in the district tournament. The Wildcats will play Hendersonville May 8 at 7:00.
