The Lady Wildcats lost a heart breaker giving up a 3 run homer on Tuesday night in the top of the 8th inning as Beech won the District 9AAA battle 6-3 The game was tied at three when Lady Buc 1st baseman Kennedy McCurry homered on the first pitch scoring three runs.
Wilson Central opened up the Lady Wildcat scoring in the second inning as Freshmen Kinsley Blackfox and Shelby Moore each powered in RBIs to make the score 3-1.
In the top of the seventh inning, Beech trailing 3-2, tied things up at three as Kaylor Chaffin singled on a 2-0 count, scoring the lead off hitter for the run.
Carly Sperlich was the winning pitcher for Beech. She allowed no hits and no runs over the last two innings, walking one.
Kaylee Richetto took the loss for Wilson Central as she went eight innings allowing six runs on ten hits and striking out seven.
Mackenzie Williams started the game for Beech lasting six innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out one and walking zero.
Beech launched two home runs on the day. Natalie Lankster had a long ball in the first inning. McCurry went for the long ball in the eighth inning.
Richetto went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Wilson Central in hits.
Beech racked up ten hits. Sperlich, McCurry, and Lankster all managed multiple hits for Beech. Sperlich led Beech with three hits in five at bats.
