On Thursday, April 5, the Wildcats traveled to Lebanon, yearning for a win against the Blue Devils. The team prided themselves with having a halftime score of 2-0, with goals made by Zach Hinchman and Sebi Gal-Chis. The game was looking up for the boys. Unexpectedly, the Blue Devils scored twice to tie the game in the matter of a few minutes. The Wildcats began to worry. Fortunately for Wilson Central, Wildcat goalie, Barjam Kaloshi, made certain that Lebanon would not make another one. Wildcats managed to score one more goal to make the final 3-2.
The team was satisfied with their win against Lebanon. While wins have been tough to come by for the Wildcats this year, the two wins they have come at the expense of our Wilson County rivals. They are looking forward to their next game facing up against the Bulldogs at Smyrna on Tuesday, April 10.
Last night the boys lost their second encounter with Smyrna by a score of 4-0 but there was an overwhelming improvement from the first game. The Wildcats had numerous opportunities including one off the crossbar, and one open goal where their player fanned on making contact with the ball, it just would have taken a nudge and it would have crossed the line. In the 2nd half, the team was down to 10 men due to double yellow cards on one of their captains. The boys were still able to apply pressure and get chances.
In the end the boys played well against a strong Smyrna side. The Wildcats play tomorrow….Thursday, April 12 at Wilson Central at 7:00 as the Wildcats will host still another Rutherford county squad in LaVergne. Be sure to come out and support the team.
