The Wilson Central Lady Wildcats started out slow but as the game progressed the blue and gold powered their way to a victory over Clarksville High School 51-39. Sophomore Nicole Brill exploded for 18 points in the second half finishing up with 24 points to go along with and team high 9 rebounds. Wilson Central shot 40% from the field shooting 21-52 from the floor but only 2 of 10 from long range (3pt). Along with Brill’s 24 points, scoring for the Lady Wildcats were freshmen Sydnee Richetto with 10, Senior’s Kenadhi Killebrew (5), Taylor Tucker and Julia Maki with 4 each. Rounding out the scoring was Freshmen Sydney Dalton and Sophomore Jasmine Angel with 2 each. The Lady Wildcats out rebounded Clarksville 31-28. Wilson Central shot only 8 foul shots in the game connecting on 7 for 87%. The Lady Wildcats from Clarksville closed out the season 21-9 record.
Wilson Central winning their 20th game of the season against 11 losses, advances to the Regional Semi-finals and will play Lebanon who defeated the Champion from District 10AAA Henry County 52-37.
With the District 9AAA sweep of the quarterfinals of District 10AAA, Mt. Juliet, Wilson Central, Beech and Lebanon will continue the tournament back in District 9AAA territory. By virtue of Mt. Juliet winning the girls district tournament the regional semi-finals and championship and will now be played at Mt. Juliet High School. Monday will be the semi-finals with the first game between Mt. Juliet and Beech and the second game Wilson Central and Lebanon. Game times may be 6:00 and 7:30 but have not been finalized due to the change of venue.
