Calling all BLUE ZOO members!!!!!!!! Semi-final match vs. DA BEARS—Saturday Night
The Wilson Central Wildcats came out firing on all cylinders in the quarterfinal round of the 2018 TSSAA District 9AAA Tournament being played at Hendersonville High School. The Wildcats placed four players in double figures, 4 seniors, Gavin Johnson scoring a game high 25 points to lead all players in the contest with fellow seniors contributing as well. Kito Aruh 10 points , Kyzick Schweppe 10 points and Naz Czeskleba 15 points helped the Wildcats to soundly defeat Hendersonville 60-36. The Wildcats led 13-9 and 24-17 after 2 quarters of play. The third quarter belonged to Wilson Central who outscored the Commandos 19-6 to take the 20 point lead into the 4th quarter 43-23. Hendersonville had no answers for Johnson’s inside/outside game as Johnson drove at will to the basket while connecting on four 3-pointers throughout the game. Winning the quarterfinal game allows the Wildcats to advance to the Regional Tournament next week in Clarksville. But first things first……District 9AAA. With the win, the Wildcats will now take on Mt. Juliet in the semi-finals who defeated Portland earlier in the day 68-46. The other bracket saw Lebanon win over Beech to qualify for the other semi-final game vs. Gallatin who defeated Station Camp.
Tomorrow, February 18, will be semi-final Saturday in District 9AAA. Beginning at 4:00 the Mt. Juliet Lady Bears will take on Lebanon followed by Gallatin and Lebanon boys at 5:30. The 7:00 game pits the regular season champion Beech Lady Buccaneers against Wilson Central followed by the Wildcats and Mt. Juliet at 8:30. All winners will advance to the championship game—Girls on Monday and Boys on Tuesday.
