Boys Varsity Wrestling · Wrestling—Wildcats take third at State Duals; Claims Individual Regional Championship

Wilson Central’s Wrestlers again represented Wilson County and Wilson Central on their performance recently at the TSSAA State Dual Championships held at the Williamson County Ag Center in Franklin, Tennessee.  After falling to eventual State Champion Cleveland 34-29 in the quarterfinals, the Wildcats fell into the losers bracket having to win 4 straight matches to claim third. The State runner up Science Hill lost to Cleveland in the finals 51-21.  The Wildcats season record stands at 44-6.

Individual Regional Tournament

On Friday and Saturday February 9-10, Wilson Central won the Individual Region Championship with 240 points with 2nd place Beech HS with 176

The Wildcats will be sending 11 of their 12 wrestlers who qualified to the State Championships this weekend Feb 16-17.

State WrestlingOn a individual note, Junior Michael Kramer received Most Outstanding upper weight Wrestler of the tournament and also  Regional Wrestler of the Year.  At the conclusion of the season he will receive Most Outstanding wrestler in Middle TN voted by the Mid TN Coaches Association.  Congratulations.
