Boys Varsity Swimming, Girls swimming · Swimming–Wildcats take on Riverdale


swimming meetCongratulations to the Wilson Central Swim Team for a great meet against Riverdale on December 14. While the Cats came up short in the final score, several swimmers had first, second, or third place finishes. Several others achieved personal best times.

All of the relay teams did well. The girls’ 200 Medley Relay team of Madisen Williams, Savana Clayton, Chloe Mulford, and Mia Harris won a convincing first place, and the boys’ 200 Medley Relay team of Blaine Robinson, Gage Working, Andrew Seiber, and Evan Freeman placed second. The same boys competed in the 400 Freestyle Relay and placed second by a heartbreaking .15 seconds behind Riverdale’s first-place team. The girls’ 400 Freestyle Relay team of Alexis Temple, Taylor Pierce, Madisen Williams, and Sarah Potter placed second. Finally, the girls’ 200 Freestyle Team of Savana Clayton, Sarah Potter, Chloe Mulford, and Mia Harris took first place.

Swimmers with first-place individual finishes were Sarah Potter, Blaine Robinson, Mia Harris, Evan Freeman, Gage Working, Madisen Williams, and Savana Clayton.

Swimmers with second-place individual finishes were Madisen Williams, Evan Freeman, Cora Derr, and Andrew Seiber.

Swimmers with third-place individual finishes were Gage Working and Savana Clayton.

Several swimmers had personal-best times at this meet. Those swimmers were Madisen Williams, Taylor Pierce, Chloe Schiopu, Paige Danly, Nova Stringer, Jerika Eduave, Cassie Wright, Grayson Haley, Ally Maddock, Thai Mason, Huey Beres, Connor Maxwell, Isaiah Casey, Austin Worrell, Sadie Patrick, Alexis Davis, Haven Ward, Dillon Haines, Isaac Howard, Shelby Bailey, Katie Arant, Cora Derr, and Kevan Mehta.

The team appreciates all the fans who came out to Riverdale to cheer and support the swimmers. The team will compete in the Wilson County Championships on January 12th. Good luck, Cats!
