Multiple Teams · Volleyball–Lady Wildcats take 2 wins over McGavock and Stewarts Creek

On September 11th the Lady Wildcats played host to the McGavock Lady Raiders and came out with a huge 5 set victory. In the first set,  the Lady Cats took a loss with the score of 21-25 only to return the favor in the second set winning by the score of 25-19. DSC_0099Holding their grip the Lady Wildcats won 25-22 in the third set. Unfortunately in the fourth set Wilson Central fell short with the score 24-26. With the teams tied at 2-2 the fifth set would determined the winner and the Lady Wildcats won the match with the final score of 15-9. Sydney McClure played well ending the game with 3 digs and 8 kills. Senior Kathryn Bean also played well with 4 digs, 11 kills, and 5 blocks.

The JV won in two sets scoring 25-13 in the first set and 25-12 in the second set. The Lady Wildcats next game was September 12th against Stewart’s Creek with JV starting at 5 and Varsity at 6.

After coming off a big victory over McGavock the day before, the Lady Wildcats returned to play the Stewart’s Creek Lady Red Hawks. The Varsity won in close see saw battle coming out on top in three sets. DSC_0045They won the first set was won by the Lady Wildcats 25-23, as well as the second set with the score 25-22. The third set was also captured by Wilson Central 25-12. Sophomore Nicole Brill played well and ended the game with 1 dig, 3 aces, 8 kills, and 4 blocks. Freshman Hope Davidson also played well with 1 dig and 2 aces.

JV also won in two sets with the scores 25-17 and 25-16. The Lady Wildcats will play next at home against Cookeville on September 14th.
