Wilson Central defeated Portland 10-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw the shutout for the Wildcats. Will Wright induced a double-play for the Wildcat defense to finish off the game in the bottom of the 5th to initiate the 10-run rule for Wilson Central.
The Wildcats grabbed an early lead scoring on a single by Dawson Hamilton, a fielder’s choice by Will Hudson, and a walk by Mason Mobley in the first inning.
Aaron Hubbell earned the win for Wilson Central as he went four innings, allowing no runs on one hit while striking out ten. Ellis took the loss for Portland. He pitched two-thirds of an inning, surrendering five runs, and two hits.
Wilson Central had four hits in the game. Hamilton and Chase Ford each collected multiple hits for the Wildcats. Ford and Hamilton each managed two hits to lead Wilson Central.
Next game for the Wildcats will be at Wilson Central vs. District 9AAA foe Station Camp. Game is set to begin at 7:00pm.
