Girls Junior Varsity Softball, Girls Varsity Softball · Softball—Wilson Central Loses to Mt. Juliet 6-4

Wilson Central leading 2-1 lost an early lead late in a 6-4 defeat to Mount Juliet on Wednesday March 29.   Mount Juliet trailed 2-1 in the bottom of the 5th inning when Molly Back singled off of Kaylee Richetto, driving in 3 runs.

The Lady Wildcats captured the lead in the 1st inning on an error scoring 1 run for Wilson Central .Alyssa Costley earned the win for Mount Juliet. She tossed 5 and a 3rd innings, surrendering 2 runs, 5 hits, striking out 3. IMG_6427Central’s Sophomore Kaylee Richetto took the loss for the Lady Wildcats. She went 5 innings, surrendering 4 runs, 9 hits, and striking out 4. Kaylee Critcher started the game for Mount Juliet. She pitched 1 and 2/3rd innings, allowing 2 runs, 4 hits, and striking out 2.  Wilson Central collected 9 hits. Alaina Morris and IMG_6428Claire Smith each collected multiple hits for the Lady Wildcats. Richetto went 1-for-3 at the plate as she led the team with 3 runs batted in.  Mount Juliet had 11 hits in the game. Tiffany Cargile, Costley, Molly Back, and Stephanie Phelps each collected multiple hits for Mount Juliet. Cargile went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Mount Juliet in hits.

Wilson Central will be back on the diamond next week, Tuesday April 4, as the Lady Wildcats will entertain the Lady Blue Devils of Lebanon High School.  Weather permitting, you can watch the game live and in color on the NFHSnetwork through WCSN–Wilson Central Sports Network.  Gametime is slated for 5:00pm.   GO LADY WILDCATS!!!!!!!
