Tennis–Wildcats continue to dominate 9AAA opposition. Defeats Station Camp 6-3

GLADEVILLE – The Wilson Central boys tennis team hosted Station Camp for a non-district matchup on Friday, April 7. The results proved to be the same as the previous district match as the boys zipped by the Bison 6-3.DSC_1785 Wilson Central (6-0) dropped a pair of matches at the number six singles spot and the number three doubles position due to not having enough players.

Despite spotting Station Camp a 2-0 lead, seniors DSC_1917Akbar Rahmani and Houston Wood dropped Evan Savaloja and Robert Smith 8-1 at the one doubles position. Junior Andrew Denning and sophomore Michael Mercante leveled the match at 2-all with an 8-3 decision over Jackson Cook and Austin Bible.

The Wildcats continued to flex their muscle in singles as DSC_1927Mercante opened the festivities with an 8-0 win over Cook at the number one position followed by a quick 8-1 victory for Wood over Savaloja at number two singles..

The victories kept coming as Rahmani clinched the win at number three singles with an 8-3 win over Smith. Denning closed out Bible 8-1 in the four singles position while senior Sean Moran dropped an 8-5 outcome to Joshua Biggs.
