DSC_0024

Playing in their 4th game in 4 days, Wilson Central ran out of lives in the top of the 7th inning against Mt. Juliet last Thursday night (5/11) in their 3-2 loss.  The Lady Wildcats jumped out 1-0 in the first as Senior Claire Smith, who was hit by a pitch, stole 2nd.  After Brooke Pfefferle earned a base on balls walk, Smith then stole 3rd.  With runners on 1st and 3rd, a double steal was issued.  Pfefferle attempted to steal 2nd then Smith stole home to make the score 1-0.  Mt. Juliet tied the game in the bottom of the second inning then took the lead in the bottom 5th 3-1.  The score stayed 3-1 until the top of the 7th as Wilson Central had to score 2 runs to remain alive in the tournament and extend their softball season.  The Lady Wildcats got runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs with Alaina Morris at bat.  A base hit would have loaded the bases with a possible chance of tying the game at 3.  Wilson Central got the hit to the left side of the infield however, the base runner was called for offensive interference ending the game and ending the hopes and dreams of the Lady Wildcats.  The Lady Wildcats ended the season with a 24-16-1 record and saw the departure of 5 Seniors who we will not soon forget.—Good luck to our Seniors—-Eboni Jordan, Brooke Pfefferle, Paige Robinson, Claire Smith and Savannah Tidwell.
