The Wilson Central Wildcat Baseball team had a successful Disney Excursion to Florida over spring break winning 3 out of 4 games.  They won their first game as previously covered by the score of 6-1 over Texas and 4-0 over St Paul of Maryland.  Game 3 was the hard luck match as the Wildcats left 16 base runners stranded which led to the Wildcats dropping their first game of the year 6-5 in the bottom of the ninth against Corinth High School of Mississippi.  The last game of the trip saw the Wildcats have a re-match with St. Paul. The bats were blazing for the Wildcats as they pounded out 14 hits on 29 at bats while outscoring the opposition in a 5 inning run-rule 16-0.  Ethan Shelton led the Cats going 4-4 at the plate with 2 RBI’s.  Aaron Hubbell captured the win giving up 5 hits and striking out 8.

The Wildcats were scheduled to play at Jo Byrns on Wednesday March 22 however it has been postponed due to heavy rains in the Jo Byrns area.  The Wildcats will now have their home debut on Thursday as the Yellow Jackets of Springfield will travel to the “ROCK”. First pitch is slated for 6:30pm.

In other future games,  the Wildcats will play a double header at home on Friday in the Wilson County Invitational beginning at 4:00pm against Dyersburg High School.  This will be followed by a 6:30 tilt vs Arlington High School from the Memphis area.  Saturday completes the invitational with a 1:30 matchup with Eagleville.
