Lebanon—Congratulations to the Lady Wildcats as they captured the District 9AAA tournament championship played at Lebanon High School and defeating Station Camp 45-30. Leading after the first quarter 13-1, Wilson Central fell on cold shooting in the 2nd quarter and allowed the Lady Bison to climb back into the game and grab the lead 14-13 with less than 2 minutes left to play in the half. The Lady Wildcats managed to score 3 points in the remaining half to head for the locker room leading 16-14.
Wilson Central opened the 3rd quarter of play with Dottie McSpadden hitting a three and Jasmine Angel scoring 8 of her team high 11 points to get the Lady Wildcats back on track in the scoring column. Station Camp had 3 different players to hit a 3 pointer in the frame to stay within 5 at the end of the quarter 31-26. The game was decided midway through the fourth and final quarter as the Lady Wildcats clamp down on Station Camp allowing only 4 points in the quarter while scoring 14 to take the win and the championship back to the Glade. Scoring for the Lady Wildcats was Angel with 11 McSpadden with 10. Woods Brill, and Richetto each with 5 points while Casen scored 4 and and Cowan 3.
